Privacy Policy
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. MindClip is built with privacy in mind. This Privacy Policy describes how MindClip ("we", "our", or "the app") handles user information when you install and use our macOS application and website.
1. No Collection of Personal Data
MindClip is a purely local macOS application. It is designed to work fully offline. We do not collect, store, upload, or transmit any clipboard logs, text contents, search history, or personal identification details to any external servers.
All clipboard processing and database storage happen entirely on your local machine:
- Local Storage: Your clipboard history is saved locally inside a secure database managed by Apple's SwiftData framework. This database is located within the app's sandboxed container directory (`~/Library/Containers/`).
- No Cloud Uploads: There are no database servers, web endpoints, or telemetry servers connected to MindClip. Your history remains yours and is completely offline.
2. Third-Party Transactions & Distribution
MindClip is sold and distributed through the Mac App Store. Payment processing, application downloads, and licensing validation are handled exclusively by Apple Inc.
Consequently, Apple collects certain transaction-related metadata as outlined in Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your billing details, credit cards, or physical address.
3. Apple App Store Telemetry
If you have explicitly opted into sharing crash logs and usage statistics with third-party developers through your macOS system settings, we may receive anonymized technical diagnostic data from Apple. This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used exclusively to troubleshoot bugs and improve application performance.
4. System Permissions
To perform its core features on macOS, MindClip requests standard system permissions:
- Accessibility / Input Monitoring: Required to capture the global keyboard shortcut (such as calling the HUD panel). This permission is used solely to detect the hotkey combinations you configure.
- Pasteboard Access: Required to read and monitor the system clipboard (pasteboard) to append new clips to your history.
5. Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update our Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App or website after we post any modifications will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide by and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
6. Contact Us
If you have any questions or suggestions about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us through the App Support link on the Mac App Store product page for MindClip.
